UC BERKELEY ALPHA DELTA PI
RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE CHARITIES
Alpha Delta Pi's international philanthropy is the Ronald McDonald House Charities. RMHC provides a "home away from home" for families with chronically and terminally ill children while they receive treatment at nearby hospitals. Since 1979, Alpha Delta Pi has contributed over $19 million to this worthwhile effort. As part of our contribution to the organization, members of Psi Chapter travel into Oakland to bake for the local Ronald McDonald House. We love the opportunity to interact with the families we serve!
EVENTS
In addition to RMHC visits, Psi Chapter hosts numerous events throughout the year to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House Charities and the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation. During the spring semester, we put on a volleyball tournament called ADSpike, in which fellow Cal Greeks chapters and members of our community participate on the beach volleyball courts behind CKC! In the fall, we also hold two other philanthropy events, Battle of the Bands and Pie a Pi. Battle of the Bands brings together local bands, creating a inviting and groovy environment. Pie a Pi is a collaborative event where anyone can buy a ticket to pie a member of our organizations in the face. We are constantly finding new avenues to give back from philanthropy events to community outreach.
Outside of the events held by our chapter, women in our chapter are passionate about supporting other greek houses’ philanthropies and making impacts in our community by volunteering regularly. In the past, we had 20 members volunteer with Berkeley Project—a local volunteer organization that sponsors a day of service in our community in the spring—as volunteers cleaning up a local dog park and as site leaders themselves!
